Right Start Resourcing

Right Start Resourcing

Thank you for your interest in the RightStart program for your church! Below, there is some information about the formatting of RightStart here at Perimeter Church. We hope this helps as a guide for you! If you are interested in downloading the materials for this course, please call 678.405.2198.

This program is designed for engaged couples and couples who are seriously contemplating spending their lives together. During this nine week session, you will get to know your partner on a deeper level and gain invaluable information about your relationship with each other. There will be out of class assignments that will help strengthen marriage preparation by equipping you to ask the right questions and realistically evaluate what a future together would look like.  A mentoring relationship, which is optional for non-members, enriches your experience by pairing you with an experienced married couple who provides you with encouragement and support.  Through your participation in the RightStart Seminar, you will have already built a strong foundation on which to start your lives together, if you so choose to marry.  You will be better prepared for the challenges and joys that lie ahead and can look forward to marriage with excitement."

The RightStart Program

The premarital program consists of three parts:

  1. Classroom Lectures (meets Sunday nights from 4:30 - 6:00 PM)
  2. Homework and Reading Assignments
  3. Four Sessions with an experienced mentor couple before marriage and three sessions during your first year of marriage.

Assignments

Each couple will be responsible to read one textbook and complete all homework assignments. In order to do this, you should be ready to invest up to three hours a week in preparation.  You will also take two Inventories: "The RightPath Profile" and "The Prepare Premarital Questionnaire."

Session Topics

The RightStart Seminar is organized into nine sessions focusing on key areas of marital life.  Seminar talks are presented by highly qualified professionals who teach important principles and practical application for enjoying a loving, growing marriage. Seminar topics include

Mentoring

RightStart mentors are couples who come alongside participant couples by listening, supporting, encouraging, and sharing honestly with them.  Mentors must meet the requirements of being married a minimum of five years and have completed training on how to best help participant couples with premarital preparation. Mentoring is optional for those who are not members of Perimeter Church; however, it can be one of the most beneficial elements of the Right Start experience.
