widow's ministry: |
The Widows Ministry at Perimeter Church is a community of vibrant, active women who come together with a common bond to support, love and encourage one another. They warmly welcome newcomers of all ages and stages. They offer a variety of activities throughout the year including luncheons, outings and service projects. All of this is undergirded with support from Perimeter’s Deacons. |

history: |
In 1999, the Widows’ Ministry of Perimeter Church began
The leadership of Perimeter Church resolved to become proactively involved with those widows who are in need of physical and spiritual assistance. The scriptural obligations of the church to care for any widow who has no one else to care for her was taken seriously and actions were begun. The widows of our fellowship were contacted and a relationship was sought with them so as to understand her needs, provide her with support, and facilitate her ministries.

why: |
Why a Widows’ Ministry?
The care of widows, a special concern of the heart of God, is a major theme in Scripture.
Jesus’ brother, James, summarizes God’s compassion for the widow:
Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. James 1:27 (ESV).
Perimeter Church desires to be faithful to its scriptural obligations to care for widows, especially those who have no one else to care for them. Volunteer opportunities are available, especially to those who might be able to provide assistance with such things are simple home repairs, financial advice, transportation, or other needs as they arise. |
