OBITUARY FOR W. PAUL KESMODEL, JR.

W. Paul Kesmodel, Jr., passed into glory on March 8, 2022. Paul was born in Salisbury, Md, to the late Rev. William P. and Frances Ripley Kesmodel on November 3, 1940. He was also preceded in death by daughter, Heidi Kesmodel Leeth, and grandson, Josiah Evan Leeth.
As an only child Paul enjoyed reading with many trips to local library living most of his childhood in Delaware. He was active in Boy Scouts, eventually achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Paul received his degree from Washington College in Chestertown, Md. followed by a Juris Doctor degree from Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, Pa. in 1965. Paul was employed as Claims Attorney in Baltimore, Md, for one year and their Atlanta, Ga. office for two years. In 1966 he and his wife and then two daughters moved to Duluth, Ga. A third daughter was born in 1968. Paul opened his own law practice in Duluth, Ga. also serving his community as City Judge, City attorney, and active in the city, school and community activities. He was very involved in ministries such as The Hands of Christ, where he served as President. He and Pat are long time members of Perimeter PCA Church. Paul was an avid reader, fisherman, and hunter. He hunted in several states in the US and Argentina; and fished our local lakes, and from Gulf of Mexico to Hilton Head Island usually accompanied by a
faithful Labrador retriever. Paul served as president of Cherokee gun club. He loved boating and spent many hours watching all the grand kids learn to water ski and trying to convince some to become a lawyer. Paul was very gifted and he used his carpentry gifts to build many things including furniture.

Paul is survived by his wife Patricia D Kesmodel of 59 years, daughters Heather K. Calhoun (Ken), Holly K. Brant(Randy)and grandchildren, Kaitlyn Calhoun, Karleigh C. Stephens(Noah), Riley Brant (Keely), Haley E Brant, Hannah B Curto (Stephen), Rachel L. Munoz(Sebastian) and greatgranddaughters Macy Stephens and Madison Stephens.

Visitation Services will be held at Bill Head Funeral Home Duluth Chapel Sunday, March 13 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial service will be held at Perimeter Church Chapel Monday, March 14, at 1:00 with reception to follow.
