Clarkston, Georgia is the the most diverse square mile in the United States. It is one of the largest entry points for refugees coming into the US. Friends of Refugees helps these newcomers to our country adapt as they learn to live in a new culture. Our team will serve alongside Friends of Refugees in the summer camp, Camp Spectacular. We will serve children ages K-8th grade during camp hours. We'll share Gospel stories, work on crafts together, play games, prepare snacks, and generally spend time loving on the kids. During the evening, we will fellowship with refugee residents of Clarkston by going to their homes and spending time getting to know them better. Friends of Refugees will train us on Saturday, we'll go to church with them on Sunday and serve at Camp Spectacular Monday thru Friday. This is a great trip for families with children as young as 5 years old!
