Hello everybody! I’m so excited you are reading this because that means I am heading to Tanzania! I will be going to Karansi, Tanzania June 27- July 14 to serve at Siha Leadership Academy by training teachers.
I have always dreamed of going to Africa at some point but the opportunity never seemed to fit or work for me. When applying to work at Perimeter School, this trip/partnership was very appealing to me. I feel like this trip was placed in my lap and it was such a blessing to say “yes!” I was introduced to Perimeter school about a year ago when Wally and I were preparing to move to the suburbs of Atlanta. The biggest blessing in working at Perimeter school has been that everyone has the same goal- the staff, the administrators, the parents. The students know that goal too! We are here to know God more and bring Him glory. This partnership is one of the many ways Perimeter is making His name known.
My team and I will be on the ground for 2 weeks providing professional development to teachers at Siha Leadership Academy. Perimeter has been sending teachers there for about 15 years! The first week that we will be there we will be training in small groups. The second week students will return to school and we will be able to observe teachers implementing what we taught and provide support. I am excited to use my abilities and skills as a teacher to train, develop, and support teachers well.
I would like to ask each of you to join me in prayer! Pray for my team and I as we are personally preparing to serve, and as we train together as a team. I also would like to ask each of you to consider supporting my trip financially. The trip’s total cost is $3,200. This money will cover airfare, food, lodging, and some supplies that we will be taking for training purposes.
