CIVIC CONCERNS

Perimeter Church believes that Christians in the United States have been entrusted with their citizenship for God's glory.  We believe we should equip ourselves with the knowledge and information necessary to make informed decisions for the benefit of our communities, state and country. The purpose of this page is to provide resources, links, and opportunities to equip you to research and get involved in current civic issues. Abraham Kuyper wrote, "There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry, 'Mine!'"

Perimeter Church does not endorse any political party or any political candidate.

HOW DO I DO ABSENTEE VOTING BY MAIL?

Expect long lines at the polls because of virus precautions. If you start early enough, the Secretary of State recommends Absentee by Mail. In the mail, you received an Absentee Ballot application. Return this application, it is a self-addressed form. When you receive your Absentee Ballot, make sure that you return it so that it is received by Election Day, June 9. If you can’t find the application which was sent to you, go to https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/. In the section named Absentee Ballot Request Information, use the two links to get an application and find the County Registrar address.

WHERE CAN I FIND OUT ABOUT EARLY VOTING?

Expect long lines at the polls because of virus precautions. If you start early enough, the Secretary of State recommends Absentee by Mail. See above. Early voting on certain days and in certain locations is from May 18 until June 5. Click https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/ to go to the MVP page of the Georgia Secretary of State website. Beneath the polling place, click on the link named "Click here for Early Voting Locations and Times".

WHEN IS THE ELECTION?

The election is Tuesday, June 9. You may vote from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM at your assigned polling place. A runoff, if necessary, will be held on Tuesday, August 11.

WHAT’S ON THE 2018 GEORGIA BALLOT?

You will vote for your party’s candidates for one U.S. Senate seat, all U.S. Representatives, all State Senators, all State Representatives, additional county and city officials. Final elections for various judgeships are on all ballots. The Presidential Primary, delayed due to the virus, is also on your ballot, unless you voted early back in March. The ballot questions are party straw polls, so they are not legally binding. [The special election to fill the other US Senate seat (due to resignation) will be held in November.]

More election information is below (Election Day voting location, sample ballot, voter registration information).
