David for the last 10 years has attended and joined Perimeter church. He is married to his beautiful wife, Courtney Goodrich, and is humbled to be the father of three sons, Austin (12), Aiden (9), and Asher (5). For the last 14 years, he has been in the field of education and started his career as a 7th grade history teacher at Lanier middle school. After six years of teaching, David was selected to participate in the Aspiring Leaders Program through Gwinnett County Public Schools, from which he transitioned to his new role as the Assistant Principal of Summerour middle school in Norcross. For the last 2 years, David has been privileged to serve as the middle school principal at Perimeter School.
In 2006, David was married and received a B.S. degree in History Education. In 2011, he completed a master’s degree in education and is currently pursuing an Ed.S. degree in Curriculum and Instruction. He hopes to one day complete his doctoral work in Educational Leadership.
In addition to his love for education, David enjoys many hobbies including, but not limited to, spending quality time with his family, camping, hiking, mountain biking, golfing, etc. In addition, one of greatest loves is studying doctrinal truth and church history.
As a young man growing up in Flint, Michigan, he attended an Arminianist church and spent 14 years desperately working to fulfill what he believed to be truth, “to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” Nonetheless, a crisis in life left the young man with endless questions about God and his seeming inability to keep him from stumbling. Exhausted by constant failure and falling short in the so-called Christian pursuit, David turned to the world, only to discover in it the all-surpassing riches of Christ’s finished work on Calvary. Out of this moment birthed a strong desire to study and learn the truths of the gospel. In addition to the word of God, the Lord used R.C. Sproul’s book, “Chosen by God” to rattle the core of my existence. As a result, the Lord has laid deep in my heart a strong desire and passion to train up a new generation of leaders, to reclaim truth! As such, David has participated in and led Journey groups for the last eight years. He would tell you that the Lord has used discipleship to transform his life.
