TYPICAL SMALL GROUPS
Small groups at Celebrate Recovery meet on Wednesday nights from 8:00 - 9:00 PM. Groups are gender specific, anonymous and confidential. We offer Step Groups and Share Groups.
A Step Group is a closed group of just the individuals who start the study together. Step group members walk through the 12 steps together, led by two trained CR co-leaders who have been through a step group in the past, using the four CR Step Study Guides. The time commitment for a step group is typically about 12 months.
Share Groups are

Provide you with a safe, confidential place to take off your mask and share your struggles and failures.
-
Provide you with a trained leader who is dealing with their own hurts, hang-ups and habits and can offer encouragement and guidance.
-
Provide you with the opportunity to hear stories of hope, healing and redemption from others who have walked this journey before you.
- Provide you with the opportunity to meet people who can become a sponsor and/or accountability partners.
CR Small Groups Will Not...
-
Promise a “quick fix.” Recovery is a process and true recovery takes time.
-
Offer any clinical advice. Our leaders are not professional psychologists, therapists or counselors.
-
Allow its members to attempt to fix one another. We are here to support each other.
- Allow its members to engage in crosstalk or offensive language during the meeting.
All CR small group meetings adhere to the “Small Group Guidelines” (see below)
Small Group Guidelines:
- Keep your sharing focused on your own thoughts and feelings. Please limit your sharing to three to five minutes.
- There will be no cross talk please. Cross talk is when two individuals engage in dialog, excluding all others. Each person is free to express feelings without interruption.
- We are here to support one another. We will not attempt to "fix" another.
- Anonymity and confidentiality are basic requirements. What is shared in the group stays in the group!
- Offensive language has no place in a Christ-centered group.
