A Beacon of Hope
Volunteers are needed to help provide childcare services while families in our program attend parenting classes. This opportunity is only once a month and goes from August 2021 to June 2022. For more questions contact Kenda Hembrough at 404-937-3316 or Khembrough@abeaconofhope.com
Host a Food Drive in Your Subdivision
Host a food drive in your subdivision or on your street to help benefit a Co-op in your area.  Decide on a Saturday morning and a place to collect from your neighbors. Flyers, signs, and bags will be provided by Community Outreach. Three weeks before the food drive, order flyers, signs, and bags from Community Outreach. Two weeks before the food drive, hand out flyers to your neighbors. One week before, place reminder signs in key locations. On Saturday of your food drive, hang out and greet your neighbors (usually from 9:00 AM - Noon). This is a great way to engage and get to know your neighbors.
Serve With North Fulton Community Charities
Join a group of Perimeter volunteers who will serve one Saturday a month together from 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM. Volunteers will work in the food pantry or thrift store, building community while serving together. This is a great opportunity to serve with other members, neighbors or a small group on a regular basis for just three and half hours per month.
The Place of Forsyth - Food Pick Up Drivers

Volunteers are needed to pick up food from Publix and Kroger and then deliver to The Place.  We need a few volunteers to add to the "Regulars and Sub List" so we can maintain our relationships with Publix and Kroger markets.

If you have 1 hour to 1-1/2 hours free in the morning  perhaps you could help us out! Please contact Deborah Ross with your contact information and the day(s) you would be interested in assisting.  Currently, we need folks primarily on Thursday to pick up several stores.  It can be anytime between 8:00 and 10:00.  If you want to be on the sub list for any day of the week, you can let Deborah know that as well.

We pick up from Laurel Springs Publix, the Publix just off exit 14, Kroger Sharon Rd, Kroger at Castleberry/Bethelview, and Green's Corner Kroger at Bethelview/20. Maybe you live near and shop at one of these--it could be an excellent opportunity for you to serve if you have just a short window of time.  All of these are within 15-25 minutes of The Place.

Please contact Deborah at deborah@theplaceofforsyth.org with details and how to get started!  Thanks so much.

Community Outreach | Help with our Food Drive

Do you attend the late service? If so, Community Outreach could use your help passing out our orange food bags to people leaving after the second service on October 2 and October 9. Contact Sharon Looney (sharonl@perimeter.org) for more information.

City of Refuge | Childcare for Mom’s attending Bib

Help with childcare on Saturday mornings so Moms can attend Bible Study.  For more information visit cityofrefugeatl.org.

Wellspring Living | Ongoing Opportunities

Serve Day Volunteers: Deep clean the house, garden/yard work, other projects as needed. This would be a group of people coming to the home (usually on a Saturday, but a weekday could be arranged) and working for 2-3 hours. Group Facilitators: Come to the home and teach groups such as sewing, music, dance, tutor students for the GED, etc. Meal Volunteers: Bring a meal or bring ingredients to cook with the participants! Celebration Volunteers: These volunteers serve on an as-needed basis to help make birthdays, holidays, graduations, etc. special for participants by donating decorations, cakes/food, plan parties and activities. Box Buddies: Assemble boxes that provide much needed support for daily living and boost encouragement. These can be birthday boxes, household item boxes, or encouragement boxes. To learn more, email kmartin@wellspringliving.org or call/text at (205) 666-1073.

Thanks so much for your interest in Perimeter Promise. My name is Hannah Rinehart and I am the lead advocate for the Promise686 Family Advocacy Ministry [FAM] at Perimeter Church.  Perimeter Promise is the first and longest standing partner of Promise686. While Promise686’s mission is to mobilize church communities to care for vulnerable children, Perimeter Promise’s goal is to be the hands and feet, meeting the physical, financial, and spiritual needs of local families and children in crisis.  We have several initial ways to be connected to what is happening with our Family Advocacy Ministry at Perimeter Church.   I can email you a list of all the ways to get involved.

Neighborhood Co-op's NEW Senior Buddy Program

Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries will be launching their Senior Buddy program this month and there is an opportunity for churches to get involved. They need $25 gift cards from either Publix, Kroger or Ingles. These cards will be used to supplement the food that NCM gives their home-bound seniors from their food pantry. If you feel led to contribute, please turn in your gift card donation to the Front Desk at Perimeter Church.
