Greet. Befriend. Invite. On Saturday, December 7, there are lots of events happening at Perimeter that you can share with your neighbors and friends. Take an escape from the busy season to enjoy leisurely shopping, delicious holiday treats, gingerbread building, serving and more! The festivities begin at 9:00 AM, but you and your guests are welcome to come early or hang out late to take it all in! This day is too fun not to share!
Now through December 16

Do you love finding the absolute best deals? Community Outreach could use your skills the day after Thanksgiving through December 18! If you are interested, we will provide you with a shopping list and budget. The more we save, the more we can give. You can turn in your receipts to get reimbursed. For details contact Jackie Dieter at jackied@perimeter.org or 678.405.2122.
Mondays, December 9 and 16

Volunteers are needed to pick up toys, gift cards, food, or other donations and deliver them to our nonprofit partners. You will be given the donations and a map to the locations where the items are expected. If you can help make some of these deliveries from Perimeter Church to our partners, contact Jackie Dieter at 678.405.2122 or jackied@perimeter.org.

Here’s an idea to try something different than the typical Advent calendar in your home. As we prepare for Christmas, many families in our community struggle to provide meals for their families while children are on Christmas break from school. Use the Reverse Advent Calendar to help care for families in our community.
How Does it Work?
Each day add an item to a box. On Christmas Eve or during the week between Christmas and the New Year while children are out of school, deliver this box of food to a neighbor in need or to your local co-op. You can find a list of co-ops we serve at perimeter.org/FoodDrive.
As you and your family prepare for Christmas this Advent Season, use this activity to reflect on the difficult choices our neighbors and families are forced to make this season and often every day. If you had a “15-candy budget” to spend every month, how would you spend it? What would your priorities be? To play, place the required number of candies to indicate your spending choices. You have to make a choice for each category. You cannot skip any categories. Pretend you are married. You both work and have a 14-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter.
Once you finish the game try these questions and talk about them as a family. Some unexpected expenses occur:
- One of your children has strep throat and had to see the doctor. Remove 2 candies from your board.
- Mom was just laid off from her job. Remove 4 candies from your board.
For discussion: Did you find it hard to decide what you might go without? Today, many of our family, friends, and neighbors are forced to make these tough decisions every day.
