Stop By Our Justice Luncheon Information Table

Sun, Jan 21

January 11 is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. Community Outreach will be at the information counters on Sunday, January 21, to provide information about Human Trafficking, and the hotline number for people who want to know and learn more about Human Trafficking. They will also have sign ups for Lobby Day in February.

Vision

The vision and mission of this ministry is to glorify God by igniting a movement at Perimeter Church and our community that will help end sexual exploitation and trafficking in Atlanta.  We will accomplish this through awareness, serving with our community partners, promoting prevention, prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit.

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God?”  - Micah 6:8

Thank you for your interest in Perimeter Church’s Justice Team.

Some years ago, we were shocked to discover that there was a major sex trafficking industry in our country and that Atlanta and the surrounding area were a big part of the problem. Even worse, many of those being bought and sold for sex were children. And it was all made easier by the dark anonymity of the Internet.

The members who began the Perimeter Justice Team in 2008 may not have envisioned just how big the problem was, but they prayed. And God began to answer, bringing others to join them in the work and in the burden of prayer. And, they found other like-minded ministries with which to partner.
In January 2015, we sponsored our first Justice Conference, inviting metro-area churches and individuals who shared our concerns or wanted to know more about this heart-rending issue. Speakers came from already-involved churches and ministries as well as law enforcement and state government. It was encouraging to meet many people with hearts and concerns much like ours.

If you haven’t yet looked through the website, that’s a good place to begin. On that page, you will find a link to prayer concerns with Scripture and specific requests along with upcoming events. We also have a Facebook page and Twitter account. Please follow and share these with your friends, especially those who are local.

We work to educate those in our congregation and others who have felt called to be involved in this effort and to direct them to the ministries and community partners we serve with.

We welcome you to join us in helping to end sex trafficking in our city.  Please feel free to contact either of us with your questions.

Thanks for joining us in this Kingdom ministry.

“As part of my service to the Justice Team, once a month, I organize a small group of ladies to take dinner to the House of Cherith at the City of Refuge. It is incredibly encouraging to watch God at work in these ladies lives. The ladies at HOC seem to embody grace and many find the joy of being clothed in the righteousness of Christ. They share this joy openly and their hopes for the future. I leave humble, grateful and hopeful each time I have the privilege to fellowship with the residents at HOC.”

"I am able to be much more effective in my fight against human trafficking, especially about our children, by being involved with Perimeter's Justice Team. I have been working on this cause for 8 years now with Soroptimist, StreetGrace, Wellspring Living, VoiceToday, and other groups in Atlanta and we each benefit from working as a united front. Bless all our volunteers and supporters."
