2020 ALOHA RETREAT
Unprecedented. New – Normal. Pandemic.
These are just a few words that are shaping 2020 and our everyday lives. Yet, we stand on the solid foundation of our faith in God’s sovereignty as we seek His direction in all that we do during this time. We have no doubt that He has a plan and a purpose for His Bride.
Through prayer and continued discussions, we have decided that going to Panama City Beach, FL for the Aloha Beach Retreat over Labor Day weekend is not the wisest decision. Several factors came into play in helping us make this decision, but one of the biggest factors is how to handle a situation if a student shows symptoms after we arrive. Due to the distance, sending students home who show with symptoms is not an option. Our experience in the past tells us that it is very probable that a couple, if not several, students will likely show with symptoms that could be explained by COVID-19 or could be due to exhaustion, eating too much junk food, anxiety, etc. With the nature of COVID-19, it’s hard to tell the difference, and being so far away from parents, makes that even more difficult to manage.
Therefore, we are canceling the Aloha Beach Retreat, and we are praying and considering our options for large group ministry events this Fall. We will communicate through our monthly e-newsletter, our website, our social media platforms and the Pulse. Please stay connected during this time as we navigate decisions and move forward in our ministry.
You will receive a full refund of your registration fee back to your original payment within the next two weeks. Please let us know if you haven’t received it by August 20.
Please join us in prayer as we navigate this season and seek the Lord’s direction for our ministry during this pandemic.
