Student Leadership

WHAT IS WATERSHED LEAD?

Watershed LEAD is a new opportunity for 9th - 12th grade High School students to be trained and equipped for life and ministry, and to become servant leaders in their spheres of influence. Students will be equipped to serve within Watershed, Church, and beyond, i.e. at home, at school so that students can live missional lives through Biblical and Leadership principles.

WHO CAN BE A PART OF WATERSHED LEAD?

9th - 12th grade students involved in Watershed and recommended by their discipleship group leader.

WHY DO WE HAVE WATERSHED LEAD?

Every believer is called to be a leader, a servant, and a minister of the Gospel. We are uniquely wired by God for His Glory and our joy, with gifts, talents, abilities and passions. The purpose of Watershed LEAD is to glorify God by being equipped in our unique wiring, to love, lead and serve people in our unique spheres of influence. If discipleship is the process where we become Mature followers of Christ, then Watershed LEAD (student leadership development), is the process where we become Equipped followers of Christ. Watershed LEAD is an awesome opportunity to the furtherance of the gospel in our lives and ministry. We believe that High School students can have a great impact on the lives of those around them where they live, work and play!

WHAT DOES BEING APART OF WATERSHED LEAD LOOK LIKE?

The focus of Watershed LEAD is training and equipping. This will include Biblical and Leadership principles in the areas of loving, leading and serving in any sphere of influence that students find themselves in. Though the focus will be training and equipping, Watershed and Perimeter Church is full of opportunities to invest, i.e Watershed, WASH, Breakfast Clubs, Jhi LINK, and other ministries etc. What’s the point of practice if we never get to play? Students will get to lead and serve in the above mentioned areas and will take their new skills and learnings beyond the walls of Perimeter, into their homes, schools, workplaces and future.

Watershed LEAD students will Learn, be Equipped, And Deployed. What does that mean? It means you will:

  • Learn

Learn Biblical and Leadership principles from Watershed Staff, Key Perimeter Staff and Leaders in various fields. Some of the topics covered will include: The Paradox of Being a Servant Leader, Creating a Life Plan: Creating a God Vision for your life, Best practices to Bible reading, Diving Deeper: How to ask good questions and engage someone’s heart, and SO MUCH MORE…

  • Equipped

Equipped to love, lead and serve within Watershed, the Church, and all spheres of influence. LEAD nights will include, Dinner and Community, Prayer, Leadership Truths, Dialogue and Questions, Group Discussions, Practical Take Homes, and Future Opportunities

  • And
  • Deployed

Deployed as confident mature and equipped followers of Christ to impact their spheres of influence. The training and equipping in Watershed LEAD will move students towards a more wholistic understanding of Identity and Purpose, their wirings, and the role they get to plan in God’s grand story. Our hope is that students will grow in confidence and begin to impact their Families, Friends, Church, Schools, Teams, Workplaces and Future Relationships

WHEN WILL WATERSHED LEAD TAKE PLACE?

Watershed LEAD will meet once a month from September to April beginning with the kick-off on Sunday, August 30, 4:30 - 6:00 PM. We are praying and working through our meeting plan for the fall, and we will update registered students as soon as possible so be sure to sign up at the link below if you are interested!

WHO SHOULD BE APART OF WATERSHED LEAD?

9th-12th grade students who long to be equipped as a follower of Christ, and to know who they are, how they have been wired, and to know what part they have been created and designed for in God's larger story. Students should have a desire to grow spiritually and in character while faithfully loving, leading, and serving those in their sphere of influence. To be part of Watershed LEAD, we are asking students for a high-level of commitment.
