Servant Leadership Covenant
Every believer is called to be a leader, a servant, and a minister of the gospel. We are uniquely wired by God to use our gifts, talents, abilities, and passions for His glory and our joy. The purpose of the Rush Servant Leadership Team is to glorify God by being equipped in your unique wiring to love, lead, and serve people in your unique spheres of influence. Students will have the opportunity to lead a small group of their peers and be involved in a ministry team. In addition to leading the week of Rush, students will also participate in equipping meetings throughout the spring, leading up to the conference.
General
- Eligible Grades: Current high school students enrolled in 9th-12th grade this year.
- Team Placement: Students must select three different ministry team choices. We will do our best to accommodate one of the three choices, but there are NO GUARANTEES. Staff will consider the overall needs of the conference when placing students. We ask that students prioritize serving the overall conference rather than a specific team.
- Mandatory Attendance:
- Equipping Meetings: Attendance will be taken. If a student must miss, it is their responsibility to communicate with their Adult Team Lead. Student leadership attendance is critical to the execution of Rush, therefore missing Student Leadership Equipping dates could result in a student’s status as a Servant Leader changing to an Attendee. Discretion is up to the Adult Team Lead and the Student Ministry Staff, and will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
- Rush Week: Student Leaders are hosting the Rush Conference for their peers and guest churches; therefore, they cannot miss any dates the week of Rush. The conference should be considered an “out-of-town event”. Students will not be available to attend other events during Rush (e.g. football workouts, work, school, doctor’s appointments, etc.).
- Production Teams such as Storytelling, Emcee, Worship, and the Dance Teams require you to be in town and available two weeks prior to Rush. Please consider this when selecting these teams.
- Clean-up: Servant Leadership students must stay for clean-up on the last night of Rush (Thursday).
Spiritual Health
Your spiritual well-being is important, and we expect you to take it seriously. We all face challenges related to sin, and it is our sincere intention to support and guide any student who may be struggling. If you have any doubts about your spiritual health, we strongly encourage you to have a discussion with our staff before registering. If sin struggles arise that could hurt the way you lead amongst your peers, we will ask you to walk through a shepherding process with a staff member and/or your discipleship leader. We are here to help you in your journey. Students may be asked to step away from leadership if they refuse to go through the shepherding process or if attendance becomes an issue.
Discipleship Group: Members of the Servant Leadership Team must be in a d-group, regular attending discipleship meetings and recommended by your leader. Please email this link to your d-group leader to complete: perimeter.org/RushSLForm.
- A student’s level of involvement in Student Ministry may affect your participation, placement, or role with Servant Leadership.
- Adult Membership Classes: Rush Servant Leadership students must attend Adult Membership classes OR already be an adult member of Perimeter Church by July 1. The content of the Adult Membership classes is part of the equipping to prepare for leading small groups the week of Rush. View the dates of next membership classes. We encourage students to become members, but it is not required to be on Rush Servant Leadership.
Leadership Equipping
Leadership Equipping is mandatory so please save the 2024 dates: March 3, March 17, April 14, June 2, 9, 23, 30, and July 7.
What to expect: Leadership Equipping typically includes a large group Equipping component followed by a Team Planning meeting, but some meeting dates may be allocated to team planning only.
- Team Planning meetings:
- Facilitated by an Adult Team Lead and specific to the team the student is participating on.
- End times can vary so please reach out to the Adult Team Lead to coordinate pick-up times.
- Adult Team Leads may also call additional planning meetings not listed above and will communicate this to students.

Servant Leadership Teams
Servant Leadership is what makes Rush “student-led.” You will have the opportunity to serve hundreds of students through serving as small group leaders, sharing through drama, seminar, testimonies, music, keynote talks, service projects, and much more. We are looking for students with a passion for God and a heart to serve others. Current 9th–12th grade high school students are eligible to participate in servant leadership.
Dance
What do we do as a team? We dance! We choose music based on the theme, brainstorm how to creatively express the major points, choreograph the steps, and then rehearse. All of this artistic preparation is then poured out onstage in performances during the week of Rush!
Host & Design
When any attendee first walks in the door, they are immediately greeted by this team. The Host/Design team works together to create an exciting and inviting space for Rush, spending intentional time designing the look of the space to match the theme and brainstorming ways to impact attendee’s overall experience.
Missions
This team is devoted to serving others and leading missions projects all around Atlanta, all to point back to the love of Christ. If you are on this team, you will work together to plan the best possible serving experience for others and develop your personal leadership skills.
Prayer
If you find yourself desiring to be on a team devoted to prayer and making an atmosphere where others feel inspired and encouraged to pray, then this is the team for you. This team spends time brainstorming new ideas of how to decorate the prayer rooms, make prayer prompts, and pray over the entire Rush experience.
Setup
The Setup Team serves behind the scenes. They are responsible for aiding the other teams with gathering the resources they need and, of course, setting up tables, chairs, etc. to get the room ready for all things Rush. The reward for their hard work is a comradery like no other – for while this team works hard, they play hard as well.
Speaking
A team devoted to proclaiming God’s Word through teaching and the lens of the Rush theme. This team works together with youth pastors to learn the ins and outs of communicating the gospel. If your heartbeat is to share your testimony and what God has done, both offstage and onstage, this is the team for you.
Storytelling
Do you love acting, writing skits, film/video, or just being on a creative team? If the answer to any of these is YES, then you want to be on the storytelling team. We collaborate to create elements that support the theme and story of Rush through performing onstage, writing skits, and producing videos.
Tech
As a vital part of Rush, the tech team receives training and coaching from professionals to further develop their technical skills in sound, lighting, and video. This close-knit team works together to support the live and virtual program elements of Rush.
Worship
If you want to express your love for the Lord and encourage others to do the same through music, you’ve come to the right place. On the worship team, you will invest time into developing not only as a musician, but as a worship leader. You will grow in your musical ability and learn how to foster an atmosphere of worship for others.

The price is $350 and includes all equipping dates, applicable meals along with the conference fees (hotel, transportation and meals). If you need alternate payment options, please contact Mia Fry.
Refund Policy for Cancellation:
Refunds will not be issued if cancellation is after the registration deadline. In a situation where we can fill the spot (may need to be same gender/grade), we will issue a refund.
