Pastor Bob Cargo

Director of Church Planting

Bob Cargo currently serves as a member of Perimeter’s Teaching Team and as the Director/Pastor of Church Planting.

Bob began his career by planting three different churches, beginning in Chicago as he was finishing graduate studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Bob and a partnering church planter launched Covenant Presbyterian Church of Chicago in the Lincoln Park community. Growing out of a ministry to single adults in the city, Covenant Church today has 300-400 members seeking to bring the Gospel to Chicago and planting daughter churches.

In 1982, Covenant Presbytery of the PCA called Bob to Oxford, MS to plant a church which would complement a thriving student ministry at Ole Miss. This is where he met his wife, Margaret Anne.

Bob and Margaret Anne later felt God calling them to Atlanta to help Perimeter in planting Intown Community Church, Perimeter’s second daughter church. During his 13 years at Intown, the church grew to include over 1000 worshippers, gave birth to a daughter congregation in Buckhead and was known for its focus on discipleship, worship, fellowship and world missions.

In 1998, Bob left Intown to become Senior Pastor of Orangewood Presbyterian, a congregation of 1200 members, in Orlando, FL. He and his family returned to Perimeter in 2002, and in 2003 Bob accepted the position as its Director of Church Planting.

Bob’s wife, Margaret Anne, has a passion for teaching children to swim and serves as a Physical Education teacher at Perimeter Christian School. Bob and Margaret Anne have two sons, Hace and Eason, a daughter-in-law Sally, and two daughters, Myra and Callie, all in their 20’s. Bob loves strong coffee, sports and news, and has an eclectic taste in music.
