Dr. Bryan Chapell shares in today’s Holy Week devotional. On Palm Sunday, Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem fulfilled the prophecy of Zechariah 9 — a King arriving “lowly and riding on a donkey.” The crowds shouted “Hosanna” (“Save us now”), yet they misunderstood the kind of salvation He came to bring.
They expected a conquering king. Instead, Jesus entered humbly, knowing suffering awaited Him. He foretold His death yet continued toward the cross in obedience to the Father’s will. The Lamb of God, slain from the foundation of the world, was stepping into the final week that would secure eternal salvation.
Palm Sunday reveals a Savior who knew what was coming — and kept coming. When we cry “Save us now,” He answers through His atoning sacrifice and resurrection.
