Dear Family & Friends,

So I’m headed off to the great place of Africa again! This time I will be staying in Tanzania, specifically Karnasi, Tanzania which is in a small valley near Mount Kilimonjaro. Since my first trip to Kenya in High School, I’ve wanted nothing but to be back on that side of the world again, and God has finally made it possible for me to go with this opportunity He’s presented me! We leave from Atlanta July 4 and will return July 15. The Lord has always molded my heart to serve people and to be bold and do things that may be temporarily uncomfortable, but He always hints to me how much of Him is there walking with me through it all. He’s in my desire to serve Him and His people here in America, and He will be (is already) there in Tanzania with me and my team to share His love and purpose through the encouragement of Christ-centered businesses.

The GoJourney teams at Perimeter Church have developed teams based around the goals of Medical, Educational, Child and Family, Reading, Teaching, etc. and now a team for Business Development has been called upon. Naturally, I originally wanted to be a part of the Child and Family development team, but something kept pulling me to investigate the new Business team. After hearing more about the goals and the need for people to serve in this area (as this is the first year this team is being implemented to go) I decided to commit to them. I’ve felt so encouraged by my team members and friends about my decision to go, it’s only confirmed that this is where God would have me. Putting my degree in Entrepreneurship and Business Development to work, I hope to share hope with these young girls and help them feel empowered to see the opportunities before them. It’s only recently that women have been allowed to work regularly outside the household and want them to see the chance they have at success in owning their own business or pursuing work in order to provide for themselves and their families.

We’ve been preparing through prayer and through discussing ways to help business owners succeed while creating stability and developing a work space that is glorifying to God. We will be preparing reports while on the trip that will provide a baseline for measuring business growth over time, and will help identify strategies for economic improvement and topics for future business training.

Any form of support will be greatly appreciated. The power of prayer is a tremendous gift from God and is of great worth in support for me. For Ephesians 6:18 says, “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” With this, we can have confidence in our Father hearing us and caring for our conversations of joy and concerns with Him. So I encourage you to pray over the best versions of support that He leads you to.

For the mission, my total cost is $3,000, and we are individually responsible for raising our support.
