Dear family and friends,
I would like to share with you an exciting journey that I will undertake with our eldest kids, Annika (14) and Timaeus (12), to go to Poland and work with Ukrainian Refugees there. When we first heard about this humanitarian opportunity offered through our Church, we got very excited and eager to help. The majority of the refugees are mothers and children. While in Poland during our Jule 24th - July 3rd trip, we hope to feed and care for the refugees. This might involve a wide range of activities from preparing meals to doing construction work. We also want to spend time playing with the refugee children, and encourage their mothers while sharing the hope that we have in Jesus Christ.
This letter is an invitation for you to consider helping us in several ways, should you be willing to partner with us. First, as we prepare for this journey, we would covet your prayers for preparation, protection, and safe travels. The pandemic is still raging in some parts of the world and we are willing to step outside of our comfort zone but we recognize our limits and need for God's providence. Secondly, would you please pray for the people of Ukraine who had been displaced during this terrible humanitarian crisis and also for their Polish hosts? We hear that the hosts, who opened their houses, instead of building refugee camps, are tired and fatigued. The Ukrainian refugees themselves are feeling burdensome and depressed seeing no end in sight to be able to return home. Thirdly, we would like to request your financial support to cover for some of our trip expenses and especially to cover the needs of the refugees.
We will be happy to send you updates and pictures during our trip and we thank you for your prayers and support.
Gratefully yours,
Annika, Timaues and Romulus
