The Situation in Poland

Since the beginning of the war, 3 million Ukrainians have fled to Poland, a country that previously only had a population of 38 million. The Ukrainian people have been forced to leave everything and seek shelter in a foreign country where their language is not spoken. Women and their children cross into Poland hoping to find anywhere to stay and be fed, and any Polish civilians with the means to care for refugees hold signs at the border stating how many refugees they can afford to take into their homes. Life is not put on hold for the Polish families now caring for these vulnerable women and children. With each passing day, living in Poland becomes more exhausting as resources are stretched between the Ukrainian refugees and their Polish hosts.  The Ukrainian people want to go home. Any support we can provide now lightens the burden that the Polish have willingly and kindly been supporting on their own.

My Mission

I will likely be involved in childcare due to the number of unsupported children taking refuge from the war. This war will always be a dark period in these children's lives, but with your support I can teach, uplift, encourage, and leave a lasting impact in the midst of this pain. Additionally, I will be serving alongside long-time partners in Poland in preparing meals, restoring and furnishing housing, and distributing necessary supplies.

In the weeks following my mission, an extensive 'debrief' will be sent to all supporters, though I hope to also share some of my experiences while I am in Poland if possible. My team's date of departure will be June 30, and we hope to reach our fundraising goals by then.
