Naomi is going to South Africa

2023 South Africa | July 21 - August 1 Watershed

Jul 21, 2023 - Aug 1, 2023

As you might know, I will be graduating from high school this May and will be attending University of North Georgia in the Fall. However, before I pack my things up for collge, I hope to be packing for a different adventure. This summer I have the amazing opportunity to serve the people of South Africa on a mission trip!!

Over the past year, God has been laying on my heart the burden to share the life-giving news of the Gospel with people, especially people who haven’t heard it or who are living in difficult circumstances and places. For some time now I have been wanting to act as the hands and feet of Christ on a mission trip and now the opportunity has arrived. From July 21st to August 1st, 30 people from my youth group and I will be traveling to Johannesburg through Perimeter Church’s annual Go Journey to South Africa.

Once there we will be partnering with City Hope Church and Impact Africa, who work to teach the community English, life skills, and provide a school for the children during the week. We will also be going to Philile, an inner city school in a low income area, to spend time with the kids, sing, and play games. In all of these things we will be building relationships and demonstrating the love and joy of Christ to His people. I am so excited to be serving the people of South Africa and sharing our hope in Christ with them.

I am very eager to see what the Lord will do, how He will use our team, and how He will grow my faith while in South Africa. You can also become part of our team and the journey by keeping us in your prayers. This is my first mission trip - and my first time out of the country! - and your prayers for peace, safety, courage, and boldness are much needed. Your prayers are so important to our team. A second way that you can join the team is to support me financially. Each of us needs to raise $3,250 - that looks like a huge sum but I know that the Lord is good and He will use His people to provide exactly what is needed.

I am so grateful for you for taking the time to read my letter, pray, and consider giving. This opportunity is an amazing gift and I can’t wait to see what God is going to do in South Africa.

With love,

Naomi Anderson

Donations are tax-deductible and must be made payable to Perimeter Church, who is training and sending the team and who requests that this be above your regular tithe and offerings to your local church. If I raise more than 100%, the additional funds will be allocated to the team fund, and, after that, used at the discretion of the Global Outreach Ministry Team.
