Dear Family and Friends,
My name is Davis Cantrell, and I am a sophomore at Veritas. I love to read, play tennis, and hang out with friends. I have gotten significantly involved at Perimeter over the past year, from working as a Barista at the Atrium Cafe to helping Mrs. Hart with Perimeter's outdoor events to serving on Rush servant team over the summer. God has really changed my heart for service, and I have been feeling led to do a mission trip for a while. My mom went to Tanzania a few years ago and remarked that it was one of the most life-changing events she has ever had. Mission trips have always been a goal of mine, but none had truly captivated me before. Then I heard about the South Africa Mission trip, and I knew from the moment I saw the announcement it was for me. After talking with my discipleship group, 5 of us decided to go. Also, this trip is just for the High school ministry.
This is a quick synapse of the trip! While on the ground, we will be serving alongside City Hope Church as they serve Impact Africa and Philile in Johannesburg. Impact Africa serves the local community by teaching them English and Life Skills while providing a school for their children during the week. All of this is done through relationships and aims to bring the gospel to them where they are at. This is Impact Africa’s 19th year serving this community. Philile is a school for inner-city children from a struggling economic class. We will play games, sing for them, and bring joy to their school day. We will also interact with the Youth Ministry of City Hope Church called City Youth. We will attend their ministry, build relationships with their students and worship the Lord together. Each of us is responsible for raising $3250 for the trip. This will pay for the flight, food, hotel, and local transport.

-Prayers for Impact Africa that they will thrive and be supported.
-Prayers that everyone will be healthy and able to go on the trip
-And lastly, God will use us to grow his kingdom, and many lives will be changed.
