Greeting Friends and Family,
I am sending this letter to you because I have been given an incredible opportunity to be the tangible hands and feet of Christ. I am thrilled to tell you that along with the high school ministry team out of Perimeter Church I will be flying to Johannesburg, South Africa to serve and love on the people there. From the time I was young service has always been a big part of my life and has since become one of my greatest passions. Growing up, service days with my family, church, and school were always something I greatly enjoyed. Being able to share the love of Jesus with others is so incredible and to see the joy on their faces as we serve them is something so amazing. It has always been a dream of mine to work in a hands-on ministry organization and this is a fantastic opportunity to do just that.
During the 10 days that we are in South Africa, I along with 25 other students from my high school ministry will be partnering with City Hope Church who help to serve Impact Africa and Philile in Johannesburg. Impact Africa serves the local community by teaching them English and important life skills while providing schooling for their children during the week. All of this is done through relationship aims to bring the gospel to them where they are at. This is Impact Africa’s 19th year serving in this community. Philile is a school for inner city children who come from a struggling economic class. While there we will play games with them, sing for them, and bring much joy to their school day. The activities that we will be participating in with the kids will be similar to Vacation Bible School, or a summer camp. Additionally, we will have the opportunity to interact with the Youth Ministry of City Hope Church called City Yth. We will attend their ministry, build relationships with their students, and worship the Lord together.
I am reaching out to you because I need your support! In order for this life-changing trip to happen I need to raise $3,250! I know that seems like a huge task to tackle but with your help it will be possible. Any amount of money will help me get one step closer to my goal of $3,250!
