Dear Family and Friends,

We are writing today to ask for your Prayer support as we prepare to go and serve Sports Across Ireland, our Perimeter Church Missions Partner, in Dublin.  This ministry is responding to the needs of a very under-privileged area which lacks a Christian voice, witness and expression.  We will be helping with their Basketball program during their Fall sports camp for the youth of Ballymun.

The community of Ballymun is a northern Dublin suburb of extreme poverty, home to approximately 20,000 people; 24% under 14 years of age; 70% single parents; 15% disabled; 22% unemployed.  There are high rates of alcoholism, drug addiction and suicide.  They are a people in desperate need of the hope of the gospel!

God has already blessed us to fully financially support this trip but we need and covet your prayers.  We will be leaving the USA on October 27 and returning November 5.  We will send out specific prayer requests as we get closer to our travel date as well as updates during and after our trip.

For now, please pray for all the planning and details as well as our training as we prepare to open our hearts and hands to the people of Ballymun.  To God be the glory!
