Hi! So Abbey and I decided to do something super cool over spring break, can you guess by the pictures? We’re going on a missions trip with Perimeter to Guatemala!!!
We went on one back in 2015 with Dad and it left a big impact on our lives and we want to experience it again, create new memories, and learn the lessons God has in store for us.
On the trip we will conduct evangelical medical clinics in churches across Guatemala. In these clinics we will pray through translators with the people coming in and share the gospel with them. We will also have a pharmacy for people who need medicine but can’t get it, and doctors who diagnose them and give them the correct medicine. As team members we will help out in these areas and hopefully plant a seed in the rural areas of the beautiful country of Guatemala.
But why send this email? Because the trip costs around $3,700 in total and since we are two pizza loving moneyless teenagers we kinda need to raise the money. We’re not asking you to pay the whole amount, (but if you want to…) but if you could donate anywhere from $10-$50 it will meet our goal in no time! To give online go to www.goperimeter.org , click on “Give to a participant”. When you get to the giving page fill out the information and for the trip select “Guatemala MMM 3/31/2018” and for the person choose Abbey and Anna. Or ya know you could push the donate button on this page.
If you would prefer support us prayer wise. A lot of things need to fall into place for this trip to work and it we need the extra support!
At the end of the trip, Abbey and I will write a follow up letter explaining what happened on the trip and our personal perspectives on different events to all those who supported.
Anna is going too!! It's just that the site would only allow one name in the title! :)
Thanks in advance for the support! :)

Hiiiiiii peeeps! This is Anna with the post-trip update!
The trip was amazing, thank you all so much for your prayer and support!
In a summary, we went to an incredible church called Vida Real on Sunday for easter.
Monday-Thursday were missons days.
What we would do was get into sharing stations with a translator. In these stations people who had just seen the doctor would come and we would share the gospel and pray with them. Some people got to work in the pharmacy which was where the medicine was packaged and handed out to the people waiting in the sharing stations. Some people got to work with children, oh my gosh, Guatemalan children are so sweet and friendly, I loved working with them, even though they I could barely understand Spanish and only a few of them spoke any English. it was really cool to see how I could connect to the kids even with this language barrier. The barrier didn\'t seem too exist at times, we could perfectly understand each other.
Each misson day was unique, it would take waaaaaay too long to explain all the details and everything God showed me, but one of the biggest ones was faith. Almost all of the christian women we ministered too (Yeah we minsitered to christians and non-christians alike.) had some struggle I could never have imagined, but they hold on to their faith, through poverty, abusive husbands, dying children, dying or dead parents, abandonment, and even those who had a catholic family that rejected them when they bacame a believer, they were joyus, brave, strong. I could tell I will see them again in heaven.
Friday was Mt Pacaya and market day, but as many of you already know, Abbey and I didn\'t do those because we were sick. I have no clue what Abbey had, But I had a case of food poisoning, I actually got sick at a sharing station on Thursday. So I don\'t know what Pacaya or the market was like, sorry.
On Saturday I did manage to go to Casa Aleluya which is an orphanage, but it\'s not just for orphans, there are abandoned or abused children there. Children of mobsters or gangsters are protected there too. Those children were so amazing, they had joy and peace, they loved us too, literatly, we were claimed by them! Those kids were soooooo sweet. I got to play soccer with them and I realized I will never be a soccer player. Seriously, they beat me....
If you are considering a short term missons trip to Guatemamla I definitely suggest it. Do it, it will change your perspective on life!

Hello, this is Abbey.
Anna kinda went over most of the trip, but I\'m gonna share anyway.
Yeah we both got sick in Guatemala. Anna was throwing up for twelve hours. That was an adventure. I don\'t know what I had, but I was sick longer than Anna. I was still sick for a bit when we came back to the United States. But hey, through that experience I had time to think and realize that even though I was in Guatemala doing medical missions, God was the one making the actual mission happen.
I never went to the orphanage, but I did go to the market in Antigua. I got a machete.
I was personally impacted by Dr. Alb\'s devotions. I found out a lot about myself. I discovered where most of my fears come from, and how they keep me from moving where God wants me to move. I prayed a lot more on that trip than I typically do. Because of that, when I came back, I\'ve started to pray more daily.
I found out from others at the trip what people actually think of me. Which was a lot different from what I thought of myself. Knowing the good things people see in me that I don\'t, really encourged me. I\'ve become slightly more confident in how God made since we came back from Guatemala.
Like Anna said before, some of the stories we heard in the sharing stations were powerful. The faith these people had was amazing. I actually ran into a few people who were struggling with their faith, or they didn\'t even know what they believed. We prayed for these people, and sometimes I think about them. I was never in sharing station where someone came to Christ, so when I think about them sometimes I pray for them. I\'d like to ask you guys to pray for the people in Guatemala. Pray for the culture. In the poorer parts of Guatemala there are a lot of broken homes. In most of the women\'s stories their husbands or sons became alcoholics. Typically after that they would leave the family. Pray that the church in Guatemala will grow as well.
I would aslo recomend going on this mission trip if any of you were considering it.

Hi, this is Anna! With a prayer list!
So this is our last update pre-trip, this week is crazy, we have to start packing, go to the final meeting, go to school, and our extracurricular activities.
So keep praying for us, we don\'t have to, but it would be nice to hit 100% of our goal.
Also, please pray for the rest of our team, we actually are more ahead in funding than they are, so pray that they get their money in time so they can go as well.
The week of the trip please remember to pray for us every day, pray for our team, that we will have a powerful impact, not only on the lives of the Guatemalans, but eachothers as well, our translators, that they will know what to say and how to say it with confidence, our doctors, that they will diagnose correctly and help us understand what the people are going through, our drivers, those roads are unpaved and a lot of times on the edge of a winding cliff, that our team stays healthy, the water down there is not safe for us to drink, there are parasites, and we are getting near malaria, saftey and smooth travel through the air port, we don\'t want any delays, and finally, we get back from the trip on Sunday and then go to school the next morning, so pray we can rest on that Sunday and stay awake and alert in school.
So yeah...
Thanks y\'all!!

Hey guys,
Anna and i just wanted to give an update of what\'s happening in preperation for the mission trip. The entire family caught the flu so the process of getting ready has been slowed down a bit.
Thank you to all of you who have given us financial support. Please give us your prayer support, we would greatly appreciate it! We\'re approxamtely around 9-10% of our goal. So, we still have a little ways to go.
Enjoy the big game Sunday night!
