Dear Family and Friends,
As all of you know, part of being a parent is being intentional in modeling our faith and sharing experiences with our children that show them what is really important in to us. I am reminded often within my own thoughts and circumstances that parenting is the hardest job, hands down, I have ever had! My desire is to do it under the umbrella of grace, love, and understanding, with a mindset that allows my kids to explore and know who they are in Christ and how He has created them as unique and one-of-a-kind. I can think of no better way to do that than going with my child on a short-term mission trip, so, Levi and I are headed to Guatemala!
We will take our journey July 21 – 28, 2018, and I am beyond excited about spending this time with my oldest son and seeing what God will do in both of our hearts and lives. We will be working with Dr. Herman Alb and the Medical Missions team in Guatemala. Specifically, we will serve 2 days in evangelical medical clinics in villages and then serve 2 days at Mana de Vida Christian School for poor and under-served children in Escuintla, Guatemala, with various other ministry opportunities on the other days such as visiting an orphanage, working with children and families, and helping around the Medical Missions Ministry Center. I have been to Guatemala before, and I am so excited to take Levi so that he can see, hear, and experience what it is like for those who don’t have has much, and to have opportunities to verbally share and live out his faith in Jesus.
For the mission, our total cost combined is $3700, and as with any short-term journey like this, we are responsible for raising our support. Levi and I both thank you in advance and from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness to give financially towards our trip. However, whether you can give or not, we deeply covet your prayers as we prepare and as we go. We will give updates along the way and will also share with you all what God did while we were in Guatemala after we return home.
