Dear Family and Friends….

Many of you are aware of a small village, Karansi, near the base of Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and our school, church, and family partnership through Project Child sponsorships there.   PUNCHMI Christian School began there in partnership with Perimeter Church through the visions and efforts of Pastor Wariaeli Maphie. Wariaeli focused on education.  Project Child provides for daily nourishment, education, health benefits, and biblical study for the children at the Punchmi School and connects them to spiritual nourishment and discipleship through Pastor Wariaeli's church.  Punchmi School has now achieved national recognition, with standardized test score rankings in the top 10%.

Our family has been blessed to participate for the past 3 years.   In June, Matthew and Calhoun traveled and conducted a Vacation Bible School for over 500 of the school and village children.  They met our 3 sponsored children, Witness (14), Nickson (12), and Edrine (10) face to face and connected with many of the school and village families and children.   

The time has FINALLY come! Our boys and my prayers have been answered and I have the opportunity to meet our children and friends and visit the school and village.  This is the first trip conducted with the new UboraTZ 501c3 and in partnership with Morehouse Medical School.   We will conduct physicals on all village children who attend the 4 local public schools. Many attended the VBS hosted by the June team.  While this is not the trip to physically break ground on the village clinic yet to be, in many senses this is the tangible “groundbreaking” of the clinic Morehouse plans to build, as all of their medical records will be initiated.   Our team will work alongside local medical staff to accomplish this and to collaborate and dream.   While they say they want and need to learn from us, I am confident I am about to be blown away by what I learn from them that is far more tangible and important than medical knowledge. I cannot wait to experience firsthand their contagious joy, unwavering faith, and hopeful hearts. I’m certain they will change me!  I am overwhelmed and humbled by both the circumstances preceding travel and the coming plans.

Our family is committed to my travel and my tickets have been purchased.  I completed final training this week and now leave in less than 2 weeks! We still need so much support!   Whether you are able to give financially or not, please join us and our team by praying specifically that the Lord will go before us to accomplish this work!
