Dear Friends and Family,

From June 16-23, I’ve been blessed with the incredible opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic on a missions trip with my youth group. We will be traveling just east of The Haitian border to Barahona on the south side of the island. During our stay we will be helping to lead summer schools for the youth of the city (youth is considered anyone 5-20 years of age) while attempting to spread the gospel through devotionals, skits, and games. In the late afternoons we will be partnering with local churches to supply mosquito nets, lamps, and clean water to the community as well as evangelize to the people in the community. Later in the week, we will partner with local churches again to reach out to the youth through baseball and community nights. We will also be visiting a couple Batays, which are Haitian ghettos in the Dominican. Batay is the Hatian word for a place of suffering and there, we will be sharing the gospel, praying for, and building relationships with anyone who will have us.

I’m beyond excited for this opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and share my faith with others. I’ve been praying over this trip for several weeks and have been trying to earn most of the $1800 to go myself as opposed to asking for donations, however donations are welcome. I would ask though, that if there is any work (i.e. help moving, yard work, etc.) that you know someone needs help with or you need help with yourself that you would contact me and I’d be more than happy to help. I would also ask if you could be praying not only for me, but also my team and the people of the Dominican Republic leading up to the trip. Prayers specifically for safety and for the spirit to move in the hearts of the people we will be reaching out to.

“And if we know that he hears us -whatever we ask- we know that we have what we asked of him.” ( 1 John 5:15).
