Dear Friends and Family,

Thank you so much for all your support, prayer, and help in getting me and my discipleship group to the Dominican!

We were all so encouraged by how the gospel is moving in the Dominican, and it was spiritually refreshing to see a different culture worship God in their own way. Even though I could barely communicate with the children, they were quick to make friends with me and it gave me joy to see how easily they were made happy. I was reminded of how God moves in ways we don’t expect, and how I’m not the one who has the power to save, He is. Going in I expected to do more teachings, testimonies, and devotionals with the people there, but much of it was just spending time with the children. I learned how much the attention we could give meant to them, and that we were able to share God’s love with just our presence. No teaching required.

In addition to the spending time with the kids, we got witness a new water plant being opened in a community. It didn’t seem like a big deal to each of us, but the church and surrounding community held over a two hour service thanking God for bring this plant to them. The clean water will save lives in that community and shed light on what God is doing in the DR.

It was also encouraging to see my friends get out of their comfort zones and try new things. We strengthened long-time friendships and learned new things about each other.
