Obituary

William Slosson Hudson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, at the age of 79.

William (‘Bill’ or ‘BB’ as he was known to family and friends) was born on November 3, 1946 in Gainesville, Florida to the late John Hudson and Frances Sundberg Hudson. Bill attended the University of Georgia where he met his first wife, Deborah Carey. They married and welcomed three children: Mandy Lynn, Jack Carey and Mikki Elaine.

After Deborah passed away he met Carol Ritter Streeter on a blind date that would forever change their lives. Carol had three daughters: Stephanie Lynn, January Hope, and Jacqui Dyan. Once married they formed a ‘Brady Bunch’ and lived in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, where he built a loving home filled with warmth and laughter.

Bill dedicated over 30 years of his career to the food distribution industry in which he served as a Regional Sales Manager for H.J. Heinz. After leaving Heinz, he worked at Chelsea Milling, renowned for its celebrated Jiffy Mix. His work ethic and commitment to his profession were matched only by his devotion to his family and community.

An avid golfer, Bill cherished his time on the greens. He found joy in every round he played, reminding everyone that life, like golf, is best enjoyed with good company and a good sense of humor.

Bill is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carol, his children, Mandy Moreno, Jack Hudson and Mikki Hudson, his granddaughters, Ella and Ava Moreno and Leighton Hudson, his stepdaughters (along with their spouses) Stephanie and Scott Schoenberg, January and David Carmalt and Jacqui and Patrick Fowler with grandkids Michael, Spencer and Zoey Schoenberg; Ethan and Tommy Carmalt, and Willie and Georgie Fowler.

Bill’s spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of his loved ones as they remember the warmth of his smile, his hearty laughter, and the countless memories made together. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and a doting grandfather, always finding ways to make each family member feel special and valued.  He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
