Obituary
Josh was born in Albany, GA. He spent most of his childhood in Sylvester, GA. Josh received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, where he also met his wife, Amy. He then went on to law school at Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and, for the first few years, practiced in several areas of the law, never quite finding his niche. Until he had an opportunity to work for the National Christian Foundation in Gift Planning then, Josh started his estate planning law firm in 2013. There, he discovered a way to use the law and his love for helping people by navigating complex, stressful issues and walking with them to come to a place of peace.
Josh had a big, compassionate heart that was ready to help others and had the ability to welcome others, so they immediately felt they belonged. Josh was a long-time lay leader of a Sunday morning community group and an Elder at Perimeter Church.
Josh is survived by his wife Amy, they were married for 19 wonderful years; his son Luke, his daughter Abby, his parents Randy Shirley (Susan) and Debi Bobo (Tommy), his sisters Janna Henderson (Brian) and Janae Santiago (Frankie), his step-sisters Kelli Reed (Chet), Jennifer Moffitt (James), and Mica Duran (Antonio) and step-brother Cody (Santana). And a wonderful extended family who all miss him dearly.
Help Us Remember
We would like to create a memory book for Josh’s children. If you have a story, an encouraging word, pictures, or even just a prayer or verse you would like to share, please go to RememberingJosh.org and post it there. We’d love to collect as many memories as possible, and we’d love your help filling the book.
