Obituary

Marianne S. McCrory, aged 83, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024, in Johns Creek, GA. Born on September 2, 1940, Marianne was a cherished member of a large, devout family, being one of eleven children to a Southern Baptist minister and a teacher. Her early life was marked by a strong emphasis on family values and religious faith.

Marianne’s journey through life was rich with love and dedication. She married young and was blessed with four sons, whom she raised with deep-rooted Christian principles. After the early passing of her first husband, Frank Marrs Sr., Marianne found love again and married John McCrory, with whom she shared 39 wonderful years.

Her career as a real estate agent at Findley Realty spanned a decade, during which she also committed twenty years to volunteering at the Neighborhood Cooperative Ministry in Norcross, reflecting her lifelong commitment to service.

Her personal life was filled with joy from her extensive family, including her husband, John; children, Phillip Marrs (Peggie), Wade Marrs (Rebecca), and stepdaughter, Staci Waddle (Jeff); daughters-in-law, Ellen Marrs and Ania Marrs; grandchildren, Frank Marrs III (Zoe), Matthew Marrs, Kevin Marrs (Karissa), Ryan Marrs, Casey Weeks (Brandon), Katherine Jordan (Landon), Sydney Waddle, and Jack Waddle; great-grandchildren, Hazel Marrs, Aly Weeks, Madeline Jordan, and Kennedy Jordan; and her sister, Gwen Minniti.

Marianne was preceded in death by her children Frank Marrs Jr., Randy Marrs, April Marrs, stepson, Jon Michael McCrory, and granddaughter Tomie Leeanne.

Marianne was a devout member of Perimeter Church in Johns Creek for over 30 years, where her faith and fellowship were an integral part of her life. Her hobbies included gardening, where she created beautiful flower gardens, and she had a unique flair for style in both her personal dress and home decor.
