Obituary
William Angelos Primos III
William Angelos Primos III, age 28, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026. He was surrounded by his loving family, after bravely fighting for two weeks following a traumatic brain injury sustained when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Charlotte, NC.
Will was born in Charlotte, NC on February 2, 1998, the firstborn son of William (“Bill”) and Genevieve Primos. He became a big brother to Julia soon after, a role he embraced with pride and playful mischief. From a young age, Will was endlessly curious, smart, and funny. Loyalty, family traditions, and faithfulness to those close to him defined his character, even as a child.
The family moved to Johns Creek, GA in 2008, where Will attended Perimeter Christian School and later graduated from Greater Atlanta Christian School in 2016. He was an honor student, a gifted athlete in tennis and track, and was elected VP of the senior class cabinet. Will attended the University of Mississippi, where he joined Phi Delta Theta fraternity, participated in intramural sports and played on the varsity E-Sports team. He graduated in 2020 with a degree in Finance. In 2021, Will moved to Jacksonville, Florida to pursue a career in finance with Ernst and Young. Will was approaching his 5-year anniversary with EY and was a Senior Analyst in the Tax Services Division.
Will’s curiosity, intelligence, and love of adventure were evident throughout his life. Will was witty, passionate, and full of life, with a gift for friendly debate that made every conversation lively. Will was the “life of the party” and could often be found singing karaoke or dancing – often joyfully, sometimes hilariously. Above all, loyalty defined him – he remained steadfast to his family and friends through every stage of life, forming enduring relationships that spanned years and decades.
Will loved sports and cheered passionately for the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Braves, and Ole Miss Rebels. He inherited a love of water from his family and helped to create many fun memories at their Lake Tillery home. Throughout his life, he enjoyed tubing, wakeboarding, swimming, or simply cruising, and was an active member of his Jacksonville boat club. Will also had a passion for history, science fiction, music, video games, rec league soccer, and all professional sports. He proudly served as commissioner of his fantasy football league for over a decade. He will always be remembered for bringing his friends and family together through camaraderie and sport.
In 2023, Will adopted his Double Doodle pup, Chuck (named after his beloved grandfather), who became his faithful friend and constant companion. Chuck was often co-captaining Will’s boating excursions or acting as his wingman on the beach or at local breweries. In the days before Will’s passing, Chuck visited him at the hospital, quietly lying by his side – a testament to their special bond.
Will is survived by his parents, William and Genevieve Primos; his sister, Julia Galbreath, and her husband, Blaine Galbreath; his grandmothers, Marcia Coombs Fowler and Mary Jane Primos; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were like family; and his beloved dog, Chuck. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Charles Palmer Coombs and William Angelo Primos, Sr.
We are so incredibly grateful for the prayers, support and love from our family, friends, church, work colleagues, neighbors, and community during this difficult time. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, residents, and staff at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center Surgical Trauma ICU, for their extraordinary compassion and care for Will after his accident.
Even in the midst of this unimaginable heartbreak, we are grateful that Will was able to give the gift of life through organ donation. His heart and other vital organs were transplanted, bringing hope and healing to four people. This final act of generosity reflects the kind of person Will has always been – loving, brave, and full of life.
As a family of faith, we are comforted in knowing that Will is now fully at peace, whole, and in the loving presence of Jesus Christ. We hold fast to the hope and promise that because of Christ, this is not goodbye forever – we will see him again.
