Our goal at the Women’s Ministry is to come alongside all women at Perimeter to support them as they grow in relationship with Christ. We have a heart to connect with women who are exploring faith for the first time, as well as women who have been following God their whole lives. Wherever you are in your journey of faith, you are welcome with us. It is our desire to help you come to know the God of all grace and comfort, and to foster a community of women encouraging one another toward Christ.

FIRST.
It’s our theme for the upcoming year. In the past our themes have been BE, the idea of being versus doing. Then came I AM, focusing on who we are and whose we are. Recently, it was TRUST, pressing into the One who is sovereign over all and cares for us.
So, what does FIRST mean?
After praying as a team and speaking with many of you, we felt like the thing we as women need today is to put God first in our daily lives. There are so many voices and commitments competing with putting Him in first place –– and many of them are good things! The voices we hear may be our peers and family who greatly impact our thought life. Commitments and activities keep us busy and leave us struggling to protect time for what matters most.
Many of us find ourselves compelled by these voices to do the urgent thing (or at least what feels urgent) and we neglect the most important thing.
Do we stop and ask God what He wants for our marriages or relationships? for our families? for our time? work? friendships? Do we take time to hear and respond, or do we rush ahead with what seems to fit in our busyness?
As a new mother, I often compare myself to everyone else, and I have to step back and remember it isn’t about what other people believe my daughter should be like now, or how I should parent her. Ultimately the best gift I can give her is putting God first and following Him. It’s so hard! I’m grateful for this precious two-year-old girl and our newborn little boy, but I have to watch that I don’t center my life around their needs or my families’ needs. I am truly blessing them by putting God first.
Matthew 6:33 says, “seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you.” In this passage Jesus is teaching his disciples to not worry about their daily lives but instead look to God and place Him first, because God already knows what they need.
Rather than focusing on worldly things, we can fix our eyes on God, and we will find ourselves following Him into great blessing. We want to seek Him first, love Him first, and follow Him first. As we look for His ways, make Him our first love and attempt to follow Him, we’ll find ourselves doing His will. Even Jesus didn’t do anything of His own accord but He did what He saw His Father doing.
John 5:19––“So Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.’"
If Jesus is truly our first love then we will put Him first, and the result will be an overflow of love that drives us to serving and ministering like He does.
Our prayer is that we would discern practical ways to put Him first in all aspects of our lives. And we pray that as we focus on the theme of FIRST, our lives, hearts and ministries would be transformed to be more like Him.
