June's Service

June WilsonJune Davis Wilson, surrounded by her family, went home to be with her loving Savior on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

June was a lifelong native of Duluth, Georgia. She was born in Duluth to Coleman Lee and Evelyn Moore Davis. She attended Duluth High school and was on the Homecoming Court. She married another Duluth native, Donald “Skip” Wilson III. They had two children, Donald and Amy, and she was a wonderful mother to them both. Later, when Donald and Amy had children, she became a wonderful grandmother as well.

June was a very caring and unselfish person, putting the needs of her family and friends above her own. She went to nursing school at night and became a labor and delivery nurse. Her loving heart made her an exceptional nurse. She loved it, and over her 25-year career, she welcomed countless new babies into the world with her smiling face.

When June’s husband, Skip, became sick with cancer in 2000, she loved and cared for him until he passed. She was a loving daughter and took great care of her Mother during her later years. Years later, she married Jon Christensen and was a loving wife to him until his passing.

After she retired from nursing, June was able to spend even more time with her family and friends. She was active in Bible studies at her church, loved attending DOLS (Duluth Old Ladies Society), Stitch In, and the many activities of her grandkids.

In 2006, June was herself diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. The prognosis at the time was that she only had a few years to live. But June was a fighter. Thanks to God’s grace, June’s fierce passion for life, and wonderful care from her doctors, family, & friends, she beat the odds again and again. June endured tremendous pain and suffering over those many years. She bravely endured, never complaining, and was strengthened by her faith to the end. June’s will never gave in, although her body succumbed to the long fight on February 24th. On that day, her faith became sight as she was welcomed home into the loving arms of Jesus. We will miss her greatly, but we are comforted to know that we will see her again one day in heaven.

June is survived by her son, Don Wilson (Stephanie) of Tucker; daughter, Amy Davis (Hinton) of Duluth; grandchildren, Ansley, Trey, Genna Grace, Austin, Lindsey and Blake; brothers, Rick Davis (Sharon) of Dawsonville, Ken Davis (Angie) of Woodstock and Ted Davis (Terry) of Duluth.
