Frequently Asked Questions

What are the accommodations?

Camp Glisson offers cabin and dormitory-style accommodations with a bathroom attached to each lodging area. View the Camp Glisson website for more lodging information.

What can't my 5th grader bring?

Do not bring phones and portable electronics. We ask that you allow your student to experience a true retreat by leaving phones and other electronics at home.

You will be provided with several contact numbers should you need immediate contact with your student. You can also obtain the cell number of your student’s leader and/or parent chaperone.

If you find it imperative to send your student with a phone, we will ask a leader or chaperone to hold it for your student. Students will not be permitted to carry their phones with them.

What time do I need to drop off my student?

Drop-off is at 6:00 pm on Friday, March 26. Please check in at the Midtown Auditorium on the main floor of Building C. We will conduct a brief informational meeting and depart on buses for Camp Glisson promptly at 6:45 pm.

Any fifth grader dropped off past 6:45 pm will need to find his or her own transportation to Camp Glisson.

Does my student need to eat dinner before leaving for the retreat?

Yes. We will NOT stop for dinner en route to Camp Glisson.

What time is pickup?

We will return to the church at noon on Sunday. You can meet your fifth grader outside the Offices/Building C.

Can my student bring friends who do not attend Perimeter or are not involved In discipleship?

Yes. All fifth graders are welcome to attend. Please instruct the friend’s parents to place your child’s name in the “Friend of” field on the registration form to ensure they are grouped together. Please remember that space is limited! Register early to ensure your spot.

If my child has a conflict and cannot stay for the entire weekend, can they come for part of the weekend?

We encourage parents to clear the calendar this weekend for their student so that he or she can enjoy the entire experience. However, if that is not possible, your child can come to any part of the weekend that they can. It will be the parent’s responsibility to transport their student to and from Camp Glisson if there are conflicts in the schedule that prohibit your child from staying the entire weekend.

Please contact Sydney Wise if arrangements for late drop-off or early pick-up need to be made. There are no cost deductions for students who only come for part of the weekend.
