Parenting Through Trauma
In this special bonus episode of Digging Deeper, Jeff Norris and Laura Story Elvington sit down with trauma counselor and author Beth Broom for a compassionate conversation about parenting through pain and suffering. Drawing from both professional experience and her own personal story, Beth shares how parents can help children process grief, trauma, and difficult seasons while building a strong biblical foundation before life’s storms arrive.
Together, they explore how suffering shapes our understanding of God, the importance of healthy community, and practical ways parents can keep the door open for honest conversations with their children. This episode offers hope for parents navigating hard circumstances and reminds listeners that God meets us in suffering with comfort, wisdom, and grace.
