Forward in Faith | Spring 2025
In March, 304 men from Perimeter Church gathered at Callaway Gardens for a weekend focused on worship, teaching, and biblical community.
Church leaders have been praying for men to move out of isolation and into deeper connection with one another. This retreat reflected that desire—with strong participation, worship led by Jordan Kauflin, and clear steps to move toward brotherhood.
Guest speaker Dr. Bryan Loritts led three main sessions on identity, character, and legacy. Teaching from 1 Corinthians and Ruth, he called men to root their identity in Christ and finish well. “In a world where we’re constantly being judged,” Loritts said, “when my identity is in Christ, I’m free—free from others’ opinions and even my own. Christ gives us everything we need to be the men He’s called us to be.”
Jeff Norris closed the weekend with a message from Psalm 73, reminding men to find their freedom by fixing their eyes on God’s faithful presence and eternal promises. “We will never free ourselves from the cage of comparison with a gospel of “stop it.” We need the power of Christ and His gospel to free us.”
Free time provided men a chance to connect and have fun. Some hit the course for a round of golf. Others ventured into the woods for disc golf, competed in a cornhole tournament, or jumped into ultimate football or spikeball.
Additional teaching times included two morning sessions with Randy Pope on developing a personal life plan, and two mornings in the Word led by Bill Wood. Breakout sessions featured Ryan Brown on biblical manhood in a shifting culture and Randy Schlichting on pursuing a marriage roadmap.
The weekend created space for men to reflect, worship, and build community. As one participant put it: “My life is changed forever. I feel an incredible level of appreciation. I loved the weekend, and I love what’s to come too. Praise God! Praise Jesus!”
