Medical Missions Ministries is Perimeter’s longest-standing global partner. Founded by Dr. Hermann Alb and his wife, Linda, the ministry provides medical care to Guatemala’s rural poor through local partner churches—sharing the gospel and helping those churches influence their communities.
In 1995, Perimeter member and youth pastor Bill Sandman took his first mission trip to Guatemala. He didn’t anticipate how much it would change his life. “I became more confident sharing my faith,” he said. “God’s power is so real in Guatemala. We saw miracles—and I saw Him work through me.”
Since then, Bill has built lasting friendships in Guatemala and led dozens of teams, bringing hundreds of students to serve. “Many who go are profoundly impacted,” he said.
One Perimeter student who served with KidsQuest this summer on a GO Journey shared, “I’ve read about miracles in the Bible, but in Guatemala, I saw them. Now I have no doubt—Jesus still heals today. I also learned that the Lord’s joy has no borders.”
On a recent trip to Perimeter, Dr. Alb encouraged our members to come be a part of what God is doing in Guatemala. He said, “Many people say, ‘I am not ready.’ That’s the enemy speaking, putting in the minds of people that they don’t know enough.” He continued, “We don’t want to miss what God can do because we think we are not ready.”
