December Pastoral Letter

Perimeter Students

Dear Student Families,

Well, December is here—the only month where we all collectively agree to drag trees inside, hang stockings by the fireplace, and pretend wrapping presents is easier than it is. But this season isn’t about tangled Christmas lights or last-minute Amazon orders. It’s about the most incredible truth in history: “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us” (John 1:14). God didn’t just send help—He showed up. In a manger, of all places! That’s how far He was willing to go to be with us. If that doesn’t make you pause mid-cocoa sip, I don’t know what will.

This holiday season, my prayer for your family is that amidst the hustle and noise, you find moments to slow down and savor the presence of Jesus. May your home be filled with the peace proclaimed by the angels on that first Christmas night (Luke 2:14) and the joy that only He can bring. My hope is that these days will be a time of connection, where love overflows not just in wrapped gifts, but in grace extended and cherished memories made. My challenge to you is this: make space for worship. Gather as a family to reflect on the miracle of Christmas, whether it’s through prayer, Scripture, or simply singing a carol together. Let this be a season where your hearts lean into the Savior who came to dwell with us—and who continues to dwell in you.

Here at Student Ministries, we want to thank you for letting us be part of your family’s journey. Your trust and prayers mean the world to us as we walk alongside students and their peers. We see this work as sacred: encouraging them in their faith, laughing with them during the silly moments, and being there for them in the harder ones. It’s a privilege to point them to Jesus, the One who loves them more than we ever could. Your prayers sustain us in this mission—so truly, thank you for standing with us in the beautiful, messy work of ministry.

As we look ahead to the new year, we’re filled with hope and anticipation. We see it as another chapter in the story God is writing, full of chances to love, serve, and grow together. “His mercies are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:23), and we can’t wait to see how He’ll continue to work in and through this ministry. Until then, may this Christmas season bring you peace, joy, and the unshakable reminder that Jesus is always with us, sustaining us every step of the way. Merry Christmas, and we’ll see you in the new year!

With love and laughter,
