Student Ministry Families,
One of the greatest gifts in student ministry is getting to watch students discover how God has uniquely gifted them and then helping them use those gifts to serve others. Over the years, we have seen students grow in confidence, leadership, and faith when they are given meaningful opportunities to step in, be discipled, and take ownership in the life of the church. That heart is a big part of what has led us to this next step.
This fall, we are excited to launch Bricks Collective, a new worship collective for middle and high school students in our ministry.
Bricks Collective is more than just a band. Our heart is to create a space where students can be discipled, developed, and equipped in worship leadership. Through coaching, rehearsals, spiritual formation, and community, students will have the opportunity to grow not only in musical skill, but also in humility, character, confidence, and a heart for God.
One of the things we are most excited about is the opportunity for students to grow alongside one another. Older students will help lead the way, and younger middle school students will have the chance to shadow, learn, and eventually serve alongside them as they develop in skill and confidence. Our hope is to build a healthy and sustainable culture of student worship that is rooted in discipleship, not just performance.
Bricks Collective will also include songwriting and original music that reflects the heart of our ministry. We are excited to release our first original song, Breathe, on August 14 on all major streaming platforms, featuring musicians who are students, staff, and alumni from our ministry. This song was written and sung at the Middle School Fall Retreat last year and we are excited to finally see this song come to life!
Auditions for Bricks Collective are now open for students interested in vocals, drums, keys, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, or bass. Other instruments are welcome as well! If your student is interested in auditioning, please complete the audition form and submit their video here.
Time commitment will be the Wednesday evenings that students are scheduled for as well as quarterly equipping meetings that will have a time at the end to rehearse and play music. These will be on certain Sundays after church.
We are expectant for how God will use Bricks Collective to help students encounter Him, grow in their gifts, and lead their peers in worship in a meaningful way. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out to me.
