Rooted in Grace, Growing Together
Student Ministries Pastoral Letter | October 2025
Hey, party people! (This is our fun call and response we do in Middle School. 😁🥳)
I am so thankful for the chance to write to our families in this capacity – and since I’m new (in this position), I would love to take just a moment to introduce myself for those that have not met me yet. My name is Anna Park, and I recently began serving as the Director of Middle School here at Perimeter Student Ministries. I came to Perimeter in 2020 after living in Miami all my life. My background is in education, and I was excited to find out that there was a position open in Student Ministries. I have been with our Middle School friends as their Leadership Coordinator for a few years, and I am humbled and grateful to have the opportunity to continue pouring into the lives of our middle school families and walk alongside you as we seek to love and disciple the next generation together.
As parents of middle and high school students, you know better than anyone how many voices are competing for your kids’ attention: school, friends, sports, social media, and so much more. Sometimes it feels like the gospel gets drowned out in the noise. But here’s the encouragement I want to bring: God has already placed you in the most important ministry role in your child’s life. What happens around your dinner table, in the car rides, the quick chat while grocery shopping, or even in those late-night conversations – these quiet, ordinary moments are where faith is so often passed on.
Recently I read through Psalm 145, and it reminds us that “one generation shall commend God’s works to another.” That’s exactly what we are about – sharing and passing along the truth of who God is and what He has done in Christ. The beautiful part is that it doesn’t depend on you being perfect parents, us being perfect staff, or their community being perfect friends. It depends on our faithful God, who uses even small, imperfect efforts to point our kids to Jesus!
Life can sometimes feel like an endless calendar of activities, and the pressure to do it all perfectly can weigh heavily. Some of our students may seem like they don’t feel the pressure, and they have it all easily under control, but they are all feeling the weight on their shoulders – whether that be grades, sports, or the arts. But remember this: God has not called you to be everywhere or everything – He calls you first to Himself. Jesus tells us that His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. Rest is not wasted time; it is a spiritual act of trust that He, not us, is holding all things together. Sometimes the most faithful thing you can do for your family is to slow down, to breathe, and to remind yourself – and your children – that God’s grace is sufficient, even in weakness.
As I start this new role, I’m looking forward to encouraging you, praying with you, and cheering you on as you raise your children in the Lord. We’ll walk this road together, confident not in ourselves but in the unchanging grace and love of Christ.
In Christ,
Anna Park
