David W. Chamblee, 86, was welcomed into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, June 29, 2022 after suffering from complications from an accident. For us, he was taken unexpectedly, but not for our Heavenly Father, who orders all things for our good and His glory. David leaves us with so many memories of his faithful service, generosity, joy of life, loving smiles, and his compassionate heart to serve others. Knowing he is eternally secure is our greatest comfort.

David was known and loved for his great sense of humor and witty responses, all given with a twinkle in his eye and a sly little smile. He would light up a room with his effervescent personality. He then would humbly seek to serve and meet whatever need was there. He lived his life to serve the Lord, his family and friends.

David was born in Summerville, Georgia in 1935, to Ralph Daniel Chamblee and Lillian Estes Chamblee. He grew up in Menlo, Georgia.  After graduating from the University of Georgia, he married Julia in 1963. They shared a sweet love for each other and their Lord together throughout their 59 years of marriage. They were blessed with three wonderful children who married and then filled their lives with nine amazing grandchildren.

David was a kind, wonderful man with a determination to accomplish whatever he pursued. As a successful businessman for fifty-five years as an insurance agent, his agency was built on the foundation of quality service and integrity. He considered it a privilege to become a lifelong, trusted friend to many. He was a good and godly man of prayer, who will be missed until we see him again.
