This summer I was given the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Guatemala. Honestly, I do not know what to expect from a trip like this because I have never been on one but something inside me kept telling me that I had to go on this trip. So I did some research and it was very clear that this country was struggling with poverty. The wealth distribution in Guatemala is very unfair; there is a small population that is very wealthy while the others barely manage to survive the next day. It is also a very dangerous country with even the police helping out with criminal acts and natural disasters occurring very frequently. There was even an earthquake that struck Guatemala this month on June 14^th with a magnitude of 6.9 which killed five lives and wounded seven. All these facts are important but the most important fact is that this country has more lives that do not know Jesus who is the only way to eternal life.

            From July 22 to July 29, my group is planning to go to Guatemala in order to fulfill our duty as a follower of Jesus Christ by preaching the gospel to men and women who do not yet know the good news. Our group will also be helping out the medical team stationed in Guatemala; however, we do not yet know specifically what God will use our team for. The bible states that there is “rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” so I cannot express the overflowing excitement this mission trip brings to myself and God. There is only about a month left until this mission trip officially starts, but this trip would not be possible without your prayers and financial support from a number of people.

For the mission, my total cost is $1,750, and we are individually responsible for raising our support.
