JNY Guatemala MMM| 6/20/2020

Jun 20, 2020 - Jun 28, 2020

Saturday: Depart from Atlanta. Upon arrival the team gets settled in and rests the remainder of the day. Sunday: Church in Antigua. Lunch. Then a visit to an orphanage to play with and love on the kiddos. Rest in the evening. Monday-Thursday: Up and ready for devotions at 7:00AM then the team departs for the clinics. Return to the ministry center when all patients have been seen. Friday: Market day and cultural experience (usually climbing a volcano). Saturday: Clean up ministry center and prepare to return home. What does a typical day at the clinic look like? There are various “jobs” that each participant will carry out during the course of the week at the clinics. 1) Runner- this person takes the patient from the doctor to the Sharing Station, takes their prescription to the Pharmacy and then delivers the filled prescription back to the patient. 2) Prayer Warrior- this person walks through the clinic praying as they go. They pray for the doctors, the patients, the translators, and their team members. 3) Kids program- help in any way they can with the VBS-style program that is held for the kids as they await their appointments. 4) Pharmacy- help the pharmacist prepare the prescriptions. Don’t worry. They won’t let you mess this up. 5) Sharing Stations- this is where you get to share the Gospel and pray for the patients as they wait for their prescriptions to be filled. You may encounter people who have never heard of Jesus and you will get to be the person that introduces them!! You may pray for someone and see God heal them immediately. You’ll work through and with an interpreter since most of us don’t speak Spanish well enough to do it on our own. You may also need an interpreter from Spanish to Mayan!! But mostly, you are sharing your faith and your story to help bring people to Christ. You will also help set up the clinic, including the pharmacy and then pack it all away again at the end. Mostly you are there to serve the doctors and interpreters and the people who come to the clinics in any way that you
