Letter Coming So

Dear Friends/Family,

Never in my wildest dreams would I ever have though I would be sending a letter like this to you. An awesome opportunity has come my way and I would like to pursue it. I will be going on a Mission Trip to Guatemala May 17-21 with Business Partners International. I know, you are reading this and saying to yourself, “Erik is going on a Mission Trip?” You may be wondering how this even came about? I often think this myself!!! There is a story behind this and why I am going. It is my story and one I would love to share with you and how I got here. My story is too long to be part of this letter. Certainly many of you may be curious and want to learn more, all you need to do is ask me. I would love to buy you lunch, coffee or even a beer (or two) and share my story with you.  You are still probably saying “Erik is going on a Mission Trip?” By now you may have called others, sent texts to each other or even called me to make sure this is not some joke or scam because you are still saying “Erik is going on a Mission Trip?” Please call me or text me (614-578-5680) and I will confirm this is indeed true and if you ask I will share my story and tell you how excited I am to be going!!!!!!

The supporting strategy of Business Partners International (BPI) is to help indigenous churches evangelize to their business communities, disciple Christian business people and develop Christian business. BPI is sending three business “GO” journeys teams out this year to teach Micro Enterprise Development (MED) in Guatemala City. The phase one team will teach how to establish and operate a Kingdom Business. We will teach four essential business management disciplines: faith at work, market research, finance and implementation strategy to a small group of students. The principles taught are proven successful in the highly competitive global marketplace. Businesses, which aspire to be successful, adopt these principles and the values explained in the course.  Phase one GO Journey dates are: May 17-21.                 

Please join our team as a prayer and /or financial partner. Financial support is essential to my going on the journey but of equal or greater importance is your commitment to pray!  Prayer partners pray that God will open the hearts of the people our team will meet. That God will help us to share our hearts for Him. Pray for team unity. Pray for the Christian leaders of the church in Guatemala as they use business as an outreach into the community. Pray our team will be open to what God wants to teach us.  Pray these “start up” Kingdom Company’s will flourish and God will be glorified.

The cost of my portion of the mission trip is $1500. I have to raise this support by myself. I need to have 100% of my support raised by April 31st, so your timely response is appreciated.

If you choose not to donate I understand. I would ask that you pray for us. If you do not do either that is ok as well. I would like for you to ask me about my story, I want to tell it and share it with you!!! Hopefully you can do all three, if not please ask me how my trip was!!
