I'm writing to let you know that I will be traveling to La Ceiba Honduras with New City Church this July in order to assist with church planting in the local area.  I will be in Honduras from July 8-15. While I did not expect to have such opportunities during this stage of my life, over the past year the Lord has opened the door to use my administrative skills and traveling/missions experience to serve in this way.

We will be meeting up with a team from Mission to the World, the missions arm of the PCA church in Honduras. The work this team is doing includes planting Honduran-run churches and discipling Honduran pastors. In conjunction with their church-planting efforts, they’ve built two medical clinics to provide low-cost health care along with the message of Jesus. They also run a drop-in center that ministers to several dozen boys, serving their physical needs and allowing them to experience a healthy family life. Since teen pregnancy is a major issue, they founded a home for single mothers to help them support themselves and their children. A seminary is under construction, and plans are underway to expand the church planting to other cities. 

Mark and I have been members of New City Church for almost two years now and we are excited to take part in New City's vision of supporting church planting both here in Georgia and around the world. As I prepare for this journey I would ask that you would partner with me. Will you consider praying for me? 

If so, please pray that God would use me to serve both the team and the Honduran community that we will be visiting. Please pray that God would grow me through this time to serve and worship him better, and that I would know him better by seeing his love and care for a community so different from my own.  And please pray that our team would be a blessing to those around us and reveal the light of Christ in whatever ways we are asked.
