Friends and family,

When you hear the word “mission” what comes to mind? Do you think of life goals? Is it a calling or an operation for the military? Maybe you relate the word to a movie like “Mission Impossible.” For Lauren and I mission means going out into the world and spreading the great news of the gospel through serving and loving. We have been given the opportunity to go on a short term mission trip through Perimeter Church to Tanzania, Africa July 20-30th.  We will be able to see a country transformed by God, through his church and his people for His glory. That is why we are so excited!

For years, we have prayed and supported our best friends the Taylors, as they left everything they owned to serve the village of Karanse. We will now have the opportunity to see how our small monthly gifts benefited those in need. We will also have the blessing of meeting our sponsor child Aika who is 4 and walks over a mile and a half each day to school. We will also be meeting the “special ladies.” They are ladies that are widowed. Women have no social status and without a husband, anyone can come and take their homes and land from them, leaving them and their children destitute. We will love and encourage them as they manage life without a husband and will serve the PUNCHWMI School assisting with curriculum, games and more.

This is where you come in. We are in need of prayer first and foremost. Pray that we will work well together as a team. Pray we will clearly see God’s direction for us while we are there. Pray that when we return we have a better insight into another culture and issues that impact those of East Africa. Pray our hearts will be overwhelmed with gratitude for everything God has done and is doing in Tanzania.

For our mission, our total cost is $7,000, and we are individually responsible for raising our support. If I raise more than 100%, the additional funds will be allocated to the team fund and after that, used at the discretion of the Global Outreach Ministry Team.

We are looking forward to taking this short term mission trip together as Lauren begins her senior year of college. Remember the word mission? Maybe you are still stuck on “Mission Impossible.” But we know nothing is impossible with God. Nothing. We are going with “Mission Possible.” We can’t wait to share with you how God works through us and in us all. Thank you for considering being our prayer partner or financial supporter.
