The Moshers are Headed to Tanzania!

“And a little child shall lead them” (Isaiah 11:6). After reading a biography on Jim Elliot last fall, Tavin said he felt called to share the love of God with people in Africa. We began praying about this desire of his heart and searching for an opportunity to step into this calling with him. The answer to these prayers came when a fellow teacher informed me (Scott) of a need for teacher training in Tanzania in the form of a GO Journey through Perimeter Church and Perimeter Christian School.

As we listened for God’s leading, the Lord clearly confirmed His call upon our family to join this trip. In Karanse, Tanzania, we will come alongside Punchmi Christian Academy from July 20-30, 2017. Christy and I will have an opportunity to assist teachers in using the best teaching methods in their classrooms. Tal and Tavin will have responsibilities to interact with the students through educational games. We will all assist with ministering to the widows of Karanse, working to build a library, painting playground equipment, and other divine appointments the Lord arranges.

We would love for you to ask the Lord about joining us in this adventure. First and foremost, we long for this trip to be covered with an abundance of prayer - not just for safe travel, health and unity on our team, though these are incredibly important. Even more than these, our desire is that we would see the Spirit of the Lord move through us to touch the lives of students, teachers, widows, and families in Tanzania. We desire to sow seeds of hope and identity for the Karanse people. We pray the Lord will use the work on this mission trip for future generations of children in Karanse to be blessed through the school so they can grow into adults who will impact the entire country of Tanzania through Spirit-filled leadership.

We would also love for you to pray and consider offering financial support. Our family is responsible for raising $14,000 in support to cover transportation for the trip as well as the supplies needed to conduct the teacher training and ministry projects. There is no pressure to give at all. We simply ask that you contribute if you feel the Lord’s prompting and choose the amount according to His direction. (Donations are tax-deductible.)
