Some of you will recall that three years ago I took the girls (Abbey and Anna) to Guatemala to serve with Medical Missions Ministries. We were blessed this year when the girls decided to return on their own and spend spring break serving with a team from MMM. Well now it is the guys turn!
David and I will be heading to Guatemala this summer July 21-28 with a team from Perimeter, to serve with Medical Missions and this time with Mana Di Vida School. We will have the opportuntity to serve it two different ways…
The first half (2 days) will be with Medical Missions which travels around rural Guatemala setting up clinics. At these clinics we will be helping to set up, work in the pharmacy, watch the kids while their parents are being treated and pray with patients after they see the doctors. On the trip last time I was deeply moved by the severe needs of the people but also their stories and faith. God worked as we saw people healed both physically and spiritually.
This time for the remainder of the trip we will be serving at Mana Di Vida, a Christian school in Guatemala that educates children from families in extreme poverty. Last time we toured this school and I was extremely impressed with how they taught the students practical trades (construction, food prep, etc) and how to run their own business. In my view, this is the best way to break the cycle of poverty and help these kids develop tools to sustain themselves and their families. David and I chose this particular trip because we are hands on and wanted to work at MDV to help them further the mission of providing this education.
For the mission, our total cost is $3700 and we are individually responsible for raising our support. Donations are tax deductable and must be payable to Perimeter Church who is training and sending the team and who requests that this be above your regular tithes and offerings to your local church. If we raise more than 100%, the additional funds will be allocated to the team fund, and, after that, used at the discretion of the Global Ministry outreach team.

We believe that this will only succeed of God is in it, and so we would request his blessing on the work that we do and that he will be glorified. Also, pray for our hearts that he would fill us with the Spirit as we go.
