Recently I sat down with the team going to Ireland to help our partner with his Sport/Arts & Crafts/Dance camp in the Fall and I asked them to give me one word that described how they were feeling about going on this GO Journey. Excited was the most used adjective. As I thought through what I was hearing, one word came to mind for me. ANXIOUS. I'm anxious to go back! I can't wait for the opportunity to go again!

Camp is kicked off on Monday with a Family Fun Festival. The campers get to invite their families to a festival with games, pizza, candy, and prizes. Tuesday through Thursday they come and participate in their chosen activities. During lunch break we all sit together in the main hall and hear stories of “heroes” from the Bible and a present day “hero” who found their identity, their strength, their hope in Christ. And we are free to share the Gospel with the campers and some of the Irish teen volunteers who don’t know Jesus, as opportunities arise.

I’m so privileged to be able to go to so many new places around the world and serve on short term mission teams because it is my job. I love every one of them! Zambia this past June was a wonderful experience! I’m still amazed that they pay me to do these things!! But this one has a special place in my heart. This one is a little different. So, I asked if I could go back. (As if my church is going to tell me I can’t go on a mission trip, right?) They were happy for me to go and lead the team to encourage and serve our partner in his camp.

I want this one to be my service and act of worship and not my job. So, I will be helping my team to raise support. We each will be raising $2300.00 as our goal, to cover airfare, transportation, food and any other team expenses. Would you come alongside me in prayer and, if you fell led, in financial support? Would you be part of my team? After so many journeys, I know that the finances will come in, but only if I have a team of prayer supporters who will dedicate to pray for me and with me as I prepare to go and while I am there. Simply click on the donate button at the right if you want to support us financially. If you want to be part of the prayer team, let me know and I’ll make sure you are getting the updates, so you know just how to pray.

Thank you for praying and thinking about being part of the support for the team. And in the spirit of the country to which we travel, an Irish blessing, May your neighbors respect you, troubles neglect you, the angels protect you and heaven accept you.
